Types of contributions
We accept a range of formats:
- Opinion pieces
Clear arguments on current issues in higher education (typically 800–1,200 words). - Analysis articles
Evidence-based commentary offering context and interpretation of sector developments (1,000–1,500 words).

- Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere
- Articles should be clearly written and accessible to a global audience
- Avoid jargon where possible, or explain technical terms
- Include sources where appropriate for data or claims
- Use US English spelling
- We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, style, and length

All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. We assess articles based on:

- Accuracy and evidence
We aim to respond to submissions within 7–14 days.
Rights and publication
If your article is accepted:
- You grant The Educationist first publication rights
